My Name and Username

I’m realizing I should probably explain my name and username for this blog to avoid misunderstandings.

May comes from the fact I like the name because it’s short and makes me think of Spring and the saying “April showers bring May flowers”; it’s also the maiden name of my adoptive paternal grandmother who is of Irish descent

Mei comes from my appreciation of the name “May,” which is pronounced the same way, and the fact that “Mei” (美) means “beautiful” in Chinese; also, “美国” is the Chinese name for the United States, the country my adoptive parents are from; additionally, one of the characters in my adoptive maternal grandmother’s Chinese given name can be transliterated as “Mei,” so “May” and “Mei” together represents my American, Irish, and Chinese family backgrounds

Sun comes from my days as a child roleplaying Warriors where I would use “sun” as part of my warrior cat name; additionally, “Mei” (美) and “sun” together can mean “beautiful sun” which also makes me think of Spring when the weather isn’t too hot or too cold and the sun helps the flowers grow

657 comes from the fact I really like the number six (it was the number I was assigned in some of my elementary school classes) and I also have always liked the number seven (it’s a common number for the amount of books in a series); five just because it’s close to those two numbers (one below six and also a common number for the amount of books in a series)
